The campground is now open for the season.
Mrs Woolly’s campground is part of The Headwaters group - a not-for-profit organisation and is very much part of the Glenorchy community. It is located in the heart of the Glenorchy township next to Mrs Woolly’s General Store and a short walk to the lakefront and the lagoon boardwalk.
Whether you are sleeping in a tent or a campervan, Mrs Woolly’s Campground certainly provides one of the most stunning picture-perfect backdrops in New Zealand.
Grab a freshly made expresso from Mrs Woolly's General Store and take in the stunning views of plunging valleys and snow-covered peaks from the campground.
The campground has clean modern facilities on-site to enhance your stay including hot showers (coin-operated $2 only), toilets, laundry facilities and children’s playground. There is also a well-maintained kitchen with refrigerators, stoves, pottery, basic kitchen utensils and outdoor BBQ’s. Picnic benches are scattered around the hub of the campground enabling you to enjoy a relaxed meal morning, noon or night!
Our onsite activities hut is staffed by our friendly, knowledgeable team who will be happy to assist with booking any activities you may be interested in including track transfers to some of the best walks around including the Routeburn, Dart-Rees or Greenstone-Caples.
The campground is conveniently positioned next to Mrs Woolly’s General Store which has a range of tramping equipment and food supplies including fresh produce, bread and of course coffee.
The campsite has 33 unpowered sites, 9 tent-only sites and 5 powered sites for campervans and RV’s.
Please note, there is no dump station available on-site so you will need to empty your waste tank before getting to Glenorchy.
